Easy to find in Lynmouth due to the big water spout! Not recommended for visitors with prams/buggies/wheelchairs or general mobility issues as the paths are quite steep and it can be a bit slippery. There is a display of the local area at the start plus there are some hands on displays to try - involving water and mechanics of... More

Great place to visit when in Lynmouth. Particularly liked the hands on exhibits. The woodland walk was very good with the meandering paths and the many different plant species. Really liked the water!!! More

Went on a day trip to Lynmouth,. Spectacular drive through the gorge. Unfortunately the museum was closed, as was the water-pumped fenicular. The small shopping area is very pretty, and there are an abundance of cafes. There is a very old Inn-hotel, and it seemed to attract hikers. There was a pub on the shopping street with a sign saying... More

It tends to be difficult to find interesting and engaging things to do with kids on Exmoor and around the area. The Glen Lyn Gorge is not very heavily publicised, but it's entrance is easily found by the river in Lynmouth. There is an interesting visitor centre in addition to the gorge, and the path along the gorge makes an... More

we went to the gorge as part of our sons 12th birthday, the museum had some old & facinating artifacts, with plenty of hands on amusements, outside you have the chance to play with various types of water squirters & waterwheels, the nature trail up to the top of the ravine is steep in places, not recommended for wheelchairs or prams,a very pretty trail with... The water spout will lead you to the entrance where you are immediately given the opportunity to visit the museum wuich is housed in an old church building. Some of the exhibits were a bit ropey, but overall very interesting. Don't give up with the archemedes screw - if no one has used it for a while it will need... More
