Once on board you will be entertained by Liz our live guide trapped in the 1940s and Charlie who has been designed by the wonders of technology to help recreate some of Plymouths historical architecture sadly no longer with us either because of the blitz or the ravages of time. « less

The actual tour itself was OK. BUT there are so many things wrong with this operation. 1. Needs somebody on the pavement actually selling the tours - they wont be in business for long at their current rate as our tour and the one prior consisted of the driver, guide and just 2 passengers. 2. Get rid of the stupid... More

We took a large group of 10-year olds. Children and adults alike would class themselves as locals and, amazingly, this tour opened our eyes to so many aspects of Plymouth that we didn't know! Beryl the Bus comes with a knowledgable guide and is equipped with screens for a video presentation. We drove through the Barbican, along the Hoe and... More

The tour offers good value and takes in the seaviews of Plymouth Hoe, some history and some of the sights so easily missed, particularly if your stay in Plymouth is only brief. The informative commentary talks about Plymouth's Naval and industrial history as well as its history as a seaside resort and uses the many monuments and historic buildings en... More

Even though we live locally we took our grandchildren (10 and 13) for a sightseeing tour around the port of Plymouth. We had lived in the area of the tour for some years but still found out interesting facts on the route. It opened our eyes to things we had always seen but never really looked at. The driver and... For adult and senior, the £10.50 cost is very reasonable, and even though there were just the two of us, the hour long tour went ahead. A gentle, informative commentry that had nice stories, and lots of history, to keep adults and children interested and entertained- many tours can cater more for just adults, but this would be great for... A repainted old single decker bus. A questionable running commentary at just under middle brow pitch, trying to make a lot out of a little. There is potential for careful authoritative and fascinating histories of Plymouth linked to a small residue of surviving features and buildings but I am not sure that this venture gets it right or makes the... I'm the Town Crier of Plymouth in Devon. Lorna and Graham invited me onboard Beryl the Bus one lovely day and I was thoroughly entertained with the tour. The "virtual tour guide" and the banter between Graham and Lorna was superbly presented. I've been away from Plymouth for twenty three years and the tour was most enlightening as I saw... More

This tour bus company will help you step back in time while you see some really interesting areas of Plymouth. The bus is old-fashioned and is a great relic of days gone by. The driver and tour guide were friendly and fun. They made nice conversation with all of their passengers and this made the one hour ride even more... More

This is the best find in Plymouth - a good city tour, capable and informative guide (human and Charlie) and a driver who certainly understands Plymouth's road system. The only problem is finding out about the tour as the tourist information is as far as possible from most entry points to Plymouth but it is worth the search. So, if... More

This guided tour starting from the Hoe on the Barbican of the historical parts of the city on a bus lasts for about an hour. My sister and brother in law were here on holiday so we took a trip one Sunday as I thought they would enjoy it - which they did but I also found it very interesting... More
