Spent an interesting hour in here last week. The travelling exhibition of modern Chinese and Chinese style work was impressive particularly the soap pots and the collection of elaborate table centres. Some single pieces eg by Grayson Perry were also good. In the adjacent gallery the slightly folksy exhibition by the local LGBT community had an amateur and slightly defensive... More

I would recommend the museum for families as there is quite a bit of hands on things for children and adults alike, a good art section and frequently changing exhibitions. Very good help for disabled and wheelchair bound people and a very short walk from the city centre shops so Mum could go shopping and Dad could take the children... More

Lovely natural history exhibition, that has been a favourite for our family for years. The changing exhibitions are often very good and children are catered for in the holidays. More

I saw the museum on a web site giving things to do in Devon. The previous time I had gone the museum was dingy and didn' t have much to look at. It has now had a complete face lift inside and is bright and welcoming. It isn't very big but there were good displays about Plymouth and an attractive... More

Our children like the touchy freely room on the ground floor inside on the right. Staff friendly too. Cafe OK but could be better. More

Not perhaps as good as it could have been but well put together and with a fair bit of content. Diluted perhaps by the more general stuff. Well worth a 45 minute wander. Would also recommend the newish exhibition of Women and Art (or whatever it was called) in the opposite upstairs gallery. Particularly liked the Rose Hilton and the... More

Such a touching exhibition. Courage, Devotion, Immortality - sums up perfectly how we should remember the significant contribution and ultimate sacrifice made by these people in the name of science. In the big scheme of things, it doesn't really matter that they were pipped by Amunsden's exhibition. Their remarkable bravery and determination is what's important. More

This is a small Museum and Art Gallery with a children's area and toilet facilities. There is an exhibition of "Scott of the Antarctic" at present with many artefacts to view. I think maybe a place to visit if you've a couple of hours (tops!) to kill. Next door is the Main Library where you can have internet access at... More

There is allways an exhibition running and what with very good permanent exhibits portraying many aspects of Plymouth through all the ages. Three absolutley billiant pemanent Art galleries make for a wonderfull couple of hours of perusing experience. A cafe and very good gift shop with very interesting affordable souveniers mark this out as must to see in Plymouth. More
