I went here on a military history trip with some friends. A couple of them had been before- about 40 years ago when the place was basically just a large shed! It's improved a lot since then and is almost faultless as museums go. The layout is excellent and tells the story of the development of the tank from its... More

Although it is a challenge to get to, about 2 miles from the Wool Train Station, it is definitely worth the effort. The free tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. Every possible kind of tank is here, and the museum is on a working army base with tanks driving around. You can even go in some of the tanks.... More

I recently visited the Tank Museum as my Father was stationed there during the 2nd World War.I was pleasantly surprised as to how much there was there to see and do besides looking at the tanks!! I actually sat inside a Chieftain tank and was given a talk by an ex Tank Commander which was fascinating! With a good shop and... More

We visited the museum as a family on Saturday 5th May and had a wonderful day with you. What motivated our visit was that my son, Tom, had been asked for his History homework to develop an idea for a war memorial. He decided to produce a Lego model of a World War I tank. Following research he chose to... More

Visited the tank museum as the entry fee (£12 per adult) seemed reasonable and under 5's went free which was a bonus as we had our 3.5 year old son with us. The leaflet boasted an average visit of between 4 and 5 hours, which seemed worth the money. A short while into the visit the expected visit to the... More

This wasn't a place i was looking forward to visiting on our holiday to Weymouth but my husband and son were really keen to check it out. With myself and my daughter dragging our heels on entering the museum, we actually had a really good afternoon out. It was reasonably priced with the option to Gift Aid, which gave us... More

This was the second time I've visited with my two young boys, as you get a year's membership from your first visit if you do gift aid, so this time was free! There's hundreds of tanks on display, a few of which you can go inside, a mock WW2 trench experience and Afghanistan camp. Outside in the arena they demonstrate... More

My husband visited Bovington on his own (had it on his hit list way before we booked our airline tickets). He loved it and the 5 hours he spent roaming around the place was not enough time for an enthusiast! The venue is big, with larger than life exhibits, tanks, tanks and more tanks. The highlight for him was the... More

Was supposed to be on a coastal path walking holiday on the Dorset coast. It was raining so hard one day that we decided to go to this museum. I am an ex service man and I knew I would enjoy the experience but had doubts about my wife. We both spent four hours there and enjoyed it immensely .... More

Went here last week, (w/c 16/4/12) I found it totally boring but my husband was enthralled and could of spent a further 2/3 hours there, not a girly day out More
