on a busy sunday afternoon the area was rather crowded however the beach at the end is worth the walk More

A trip to Hengistbury Head will give you 360 degree views, with views of Christchurch, Isle or Wight, Bournemouth, Old Harrys Rocks and beyond. You can meander down to Mudeford Spit where all the 'expensive' beach huts are. A nice little restaurant can be found there too! Well worth the trip and cheap car parking too! More

If you want to get away from the beautiful but very busy Bournemouth beaches head for Southbourne and onto Hengistbury Head. Once you have parked and walked past the 'Double Dykes' and up the hill to the head you might feel up to walking down to the Black house, it sits on a really lovely beach and you can see... More

From the car park there's a closed road that takes you down to the beach along which a land train runs, but also perfect for scooters, bikes, skates etc. On one side you have Christchurch Harbour and on the other you have Hengistbury Head and the sea. It's all about nature here, so as long as you enjoy a walk... More

If you like a walk, this is the place to visit. All sorts or routes, some up-hill, some level on tarmac paths and other on the beach. Depending on the route you choose, you could end up at Mudeford Quay. The Boathouse Restaurant on the Beach is a good stop. More

First you need to be able to walk well as it is a distance once you have started. You start by walking alongside Christchurch harbour arriving the beach with the harbour on one side and the sea on the other,then you start the climb up to the Head and at the top you have the magnificent views across to poole...
