My favourite time to visit the beach at Bournemouth is out of the main tourist season. Remove all the holiday makers and it is a delight to walk along the prom or the beach for as long as the eye can see. We lived in Bournemouth for over 20 years although now in New Zealand. We had many happy walks along thebeach which stretches from Branksome to Hengisbury Head. Safe bathing and lovely golden sands with no development at beach level due to high cliffs. more

Bournemouth Beach where to start. The central beach between the piers of Bournemouth and Boscombe. In Summer and at weekends can get absolutely packed. Youngish crowd expect topless sunbathers, and it can get a little rowdy. Beach towards Poole get less crowded the further you get from Bournemouth however the beach does get quite narrow in places.
