This is my favourite NT house. Every time I come to Norfolk I make a point of coming here. A magnificent Dutch gable inspired Tudor mansion on the site of the Boleyn home. Absolutely stunning long gallery with the best collection of books owned by the NT - the ceiling is decorated plaster work and worthy of longer study than... More

Not as grand as Buckingham or Blenheim, but then everyone can't a queen or an earl. Beautiful grounds and interesting furnishings. The docents were quite friendly and knowledgeable of the changes in the house over the years. More

We visited Blickling estate on Easter weekend 2012. The house is very impressive from the outside and equally impressive inside where typical to National Trust style it is fully furnished. My favourite part was the kitchens where there were people dressed in period costume cooking Easter dishes. Considering it was very early in the year the gardens were gorgeous and... More

Beautiful and friendly visited today, great house run by the National Trust. The plaster work on the ceilings are magnificent especially the Long room. Parklands are also beautiful. I will return on a warmer day More

We visited Blickling Hall on Easter Sunday and we expected it to be very crowded. Well, of course it was. But it didn't spoilt the visit the slightest (except that we gave up waiting half an hour in the queue at the café). We received a very warm welcome, something we always get at National Trust places. The Hall was... More

When we visited in February, only the parkland and gardens were open (and even the gardens were restricted to just the Parterre because of the snow cover). But it didn't matter, because this is such a fabulous place to visit. And from many places in the grounds there are views of the exquisite early 17th century brick built stately home,... More

This is such a well maintained and interesting hall with loads of history yet not stuffy and dull. The grounds are outstanding even in winter there is so much to see - today was Helebores. Great on site cafe/restaurant with superb quality home made food after a good walk in the massive grounds. Take time to explore its a day... More

Extensive gardens and lots of estate walks. There are lots of events at this property during the year. The daffodils in the spring are worth seeing but you need to walk right to the back of the garden as they completely cover the bank near the ha ha. More

We visited on one of the NT special weekends when the Hall was decorated for Christmas and it was magical. There was period music in the main rooms and in one Anne Boleyn was dancing with HenryVIII. There were serving wenches and other costumed players around the house adding to the atmosphere.A banquet table was fully set and there were other... More

Disclosure: I was there providing part of the Henrician Christmas entertainment w/e 10-11 Dec 2011 Good to see the house well used in what would otherwise be a quiet time of the year, and plenty of people came so it was clearly well publicised. Brilliant festive decorations, including flower decoration competition entries throughout the house. Unfortunately, the estate pub was... More
