Its a lovely place with beautiful buildings but if you're going for the shopping, forget it. its mostly bought in tat that you can get in most high streets with a few local/artisan art pieces thrown in. Maybe if we had gone on a farmers market day it would have been better but it's somewhere I wont bother with again... More

This is a wonderful location. The shops are great and very different from the usual high street shops. We tried to get into the pub but they didn't allow prams and we hadn't booked - it was very busy on Farmers Market day. We bough quite a bit and as you would expect its a bit more expensive than the... More

This was such an amazing little haven! I think it's a converted brewery which now houses a couple of cafes, a pub and a restaurant, alongside a concert hall and lots of little shops selling everything from local produce, to house and homeware, antiques and art. We ate in one of the little cafes and were thoroughly impressed with the... More

We couldn't fault the appartment, so stylish and not at all like a holiday rent. Walks were stunning, shopping excellent and food delicious in the cafe's. We will definately be back and now see this as our little bolt hole. Who needs a holiday home with all that responsibilty when this home from home is available. I can't speak highly... More

We visited Snape Maltings during a stay in Suffolk. This is an interesting use of space/renovation, even for the most ardent non-shopper. Products range from local produce, home furnishings, books, toys and glass & ceramic works. There are also 2 good cafes, a pub (part of a local chain) and some walks among the reeds and rushes. More

Famed centre of contemporary classical music in the UK close to Aldborogh on the Suffolk coast, also worth a visit. No concerts when we visited on a fresh October morning around 10.00am but there a couple of cafe's that open at 10.00, a gift shop and large homeware store. The site is still being developed with music and rehearsal studios,... More

Spent a lovely three days in the Snape/Minsmere area and went to the Maltings to see if I could pick up some Christmas shopping. Have popped in many times over the years, this year my first impression was how much more expensive everything was and there seemed to be far fewer unique gifts which has always been the malting's strength.... i had the most fabulous visit here , wandering around in the sunshine, looking around. It is beautiful, clean , very well looked after. I had a gorgeous blackberry icecream, a wonderful espresso and everywhere the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, especially the guy in main performance hall shop who was charming. My visit was the high spot of... More

We found Snape Maltings by chance as we were on our way to Aldeburgh and what an interesting and fascinating place to visit. It is a large complex built out of old maltings buildings which have been sympathetically developed to provide a wide range of craft shops, furniture shops, cafes along with a concert hall. Having bought a number of... More

Love all the beautiful homewares absolutely gorgeous, and the stunning walks and sculptures at Snape Maltings but really don't love the habit that at every till we went to that the staff lick their fingers to open bags, handle wrapping paper etc, not nice and not hygenic especially when purchasing kitchen wares, nor do I love the rude or condescending...
