I'm a sucker for some bright lights and a doughnut! Thoroughly enjoyed dragging my boyfriend around the pier and getting him to spend 7 quid trying to win me an Angry bird (how chav) but it was all good fun, and we popped back most evenings for the lights and a few more doughnuts!

Of course it wasn't excellent, it was pure nostalgia. We went on a cold, raining May day. The sea was the colour of lead, the wind whipping and the white tops lashing the stoney shore. On a recent trip to Brighton visited the Pavilion (excellent) and Brighton Pier where the ludicrously noisy piped music made it impossible to hear the water lapping against it. The succession of loudspeakers along the whole length of the Pier means there is no escape from this terrible noise.

You cant go to Brighton and not go on the pier! The rides are great, the chip shop is lovely and the whole place has a wonderful laid back atmosphere. There is nothing better than sitting in the sun with a pint of cider looking out over the sea.
