A free reserve which is well maintained by volunteers and friends of Rye Reserve. The hides are fantastic and give wonderful views of the birds.. Will only really appeal to bird watchers like me, though it is lovely to walk around the reserve so close to the sea. Friends have free access to Camber Castle when open. Well worth beloning... More

The benefit of visiting this Reserve is the walk parallel with the River Rother which normally is traffic free. This is great for dog-walkers and chidren to practice their cycling and skating in safety. There is a small, but interesting vistor centre and hides to watch the birds from. Sheep soon moved out of the way!! Lots to enjoy and see with a variety of stops on the way a detour to Rye Harbour Parish Church to see the Lifeboat and lynch gate memorials. At Winchelsea Beach detour to The Ship for lunch More

Free car park with adjacent toilets. Pub close by does food but not great beer. Caravan park allows access for tea etc. Another tea shop down from car park and another pub. The kids loved this place and after we popped into Rye and had a lovely meal and there are some nice pubs to go to also Antique shops so again I had a great time More
