We did enjoy the visit, though it didn't measure up to some of the other sites we have seen. As has been mentioned, it's a long walk from the car park to the house and there is a bus that will take you there. What we didn't notice is that the bus does not run during the lunch hour, so... More

Visited on a bit of a wet day but still had a fab time and will go back (we are NT members) for a better look at the grounds when it's better weather. We walked down through the park and saw all the fallow deer quite close up which was lovely. then had a wander round the gardens and church... More

I took my son to see the house and grounds, we didnt pick the best of days as it was showery. We arrived and went to the ticket booth at the top of the estate and the helpful ladies gave us a map and told us what was going on during the day and told us about the shuttle down... More

We visit Dyrham park regularly and always enjoy it. The walk from the car park to the house is quite long but there is a bus that runs regularly from the ticket office to the house. If you do manage the walk it is a beautiful downhill jaunt, but a bit of a slog on the way back up though!... More

When we arrived there, we decided to buy a National Trust membership for the whole family. The Lady on the counter was extremely nice and helpful. The house itself is wonderful. In the drawing room, there was a lady playing the film music of the latest Jane Austen films on the piano. You could here the music all over the... More

We stopped here on our way back from the West country to see what it was like for a few hours . Having decided to walk to the house , you cannot fail to notice the huge expanse of this place , open and varied parkland eveywhere you look -regretfully no deer was spotted - but then you see the... A wonderful house and gardens. We are members of the National Trust so visit here annually, and we have always had an enjoyable visit. A good time to visit is when the tulips are flowering - you will see why when you see how much Dutch influence the property has. We attended a tulip arranging demonstration one year which was... I strongly recommened anyone to visit Dyrham Park. The house and building are magnificent with original furnishing, decorations and paintings much in evidence. There are many rooms open to the public both above and below stairs which give a facination indication of what life must have been like for residents over the ages. The house dates back to the 1690's and... We live about 15 minutues from Dyrham Park and regularly visit. The opening hours are limited (closes at 5PM) so after school visits are rushed but it's lovely to go at the weekend. There are lots of long walks around the deer park and plenty of deer to spot if you keep off the main pathways. The formal gardens are... More
