This is in a lovely setting, with the truly beautiful River Test running through the grounds. Externally, the house is REALLY ugly, but there are some little gems inside. Normal, quite good, National Trust catering.

We visited here in May before the roses were in bloom; however the grounds were lovely and the house has an interesting history. We had lunch in the restaurant and it was very good. We would like to return when the roses are in bloom.

While Mottisfont Abbey is always worth a visit anytime of the year, it's especially good when the roses are blooming. The walled rose garden has an amazing display of fragrance and colour with every variety of rose imaginable.

Beautiful gardens, particularly the rose garden on an evening in mid-June for the scent. Sit on a bench and take it all in. Interesting house which has regular exhibitions. Take a picnic or eat at the cafe. Opportunity to buy roses and other plants. Good pubs nearby too.

As I am a N.T. Member with my wife we visit on a regular time scale. As we do not live to far away. The gardens are well attended, the roses are good and look grand in the walled garden.

Went here on the national trust free weekend. The grounds are lovely but the house we found disappointing as not much in it as you expect from national trust. Our 2 year old enjoyed exploring the ground. Food and drinks were expensive. A enjoyable few ours spent out with the family
