This is in a lovely setting, with the truly beautiful River Test running through the grounds. Externally, the house is REALLY ugly, but there are some little gems inside. Normal, quite good, National Trust catering. (On this visit, we didn't go to the walled garden, but I do know from previous years how fantastic it is when the roses are... More

We visited here in May before the roses were in bloom; however the grounds were lovely and the house has an interesting history. We had lunch in the restaurant and it was very good. We would like to return when the roses are in bloom. More

While Mottisfont Abbey is always worth a visit anytime of the year, it's especially good when the roses are blooming. The walled rose garden has an amazing display of fragrance and colour with every variety of rose imaginable. More

We have been to Mottisfont on many occasions and each time we come away feeling like we have learnt something new and exciting. We love the unique art exhibitions and other exhibitions they put on at Mottisfont Abbey. We love walking along the river and viewing the HUGE trout and other river animals. Would highly recommend a visit here in... More

Beautiful gardens, particularly the rose garden on an evening in mid-June for the scent. Sit on a bench and take it all in. Interesting house which has regular exhibitions. Take a picnic or eat at the cafe. Opportunity to buy roses and other plants. Good pubs nearby too. More

This is a wonderful property, and the garden is a delight when all of the roses are in bloom. More

As I am a N.T. Member with my wife we visit on a regular time scale. As we do not live to far away. The gardens are well attended, the roses are good and look grand in the walled garden. Children can run around and play hide and seak !. Other areas you can walk, is along part of the... More

Went here on the national trust free weekend. The grounds are lovely but the house we found disappointing as not much in it as you expect from national trust. Our 2 year old enjoyed exploring the ground. Food and drinks were expensive. A enjoyable few ours spent out with the family More
