We were visiting our son who is at Southampton Uni, took our two youngest to the play area there, had a lovely walk along the River, there was a little train operating on a Sunday so my son had a ride, only 50p ! More

A great family outing with safe childrens' play areas, ducks and swans to feed and on Sunday afternoons there are rides on model trains. More

A lovely area to pic-nik and on a sunday (from March - October) there is a little steam train place where you can ride on the trains for a small donation. lovely walks ! and two nice parks one just been done up so more modern things to do (more for the older children rather then the young ones) and on selected days they have a little train running through & an ice cream man, nice cheap day out! More

Great walks along the Itchen river and navigation canal. From Cobden Bridge right up to The White Swan pub the path gives continuous access to the river and its wildlife. Lovely park looking over the river. You can walk from the shops at Bitterne Park all the way up to a great pub called the White Swan which is located just on the water after the wyre. Even has a secret Ice Cream van hidden away in the car park halfway up the walk as a treat More
