Lovely hot day to enjoy the outdoors. So I paid this place a visit. I literally was done in 5 mins. Charged to see one shed and get some lunch. Waste of time. I'm going to contact Trading Standards as their is nothing to see but one shed of butterflies and one with some ants. Wow. Don't go. Wait until... More

The other reviews describing this as a travesty are pretty spot on. I visited here last summer with my the one year old daughter, my wife and the in laws. The place is an appalling sprawl. The view was a unanimous one. Lets start with the main attraction - the butterfly house. What tosh. It's a poorly constructed greenhouse about... More

This is the first review I have ever written but was compelled to write it after our very disappointing visit to Butterfly World. I agree with another reviewer's comments that this was a half constructed and very poorly maintained attraction. Furthermore, the staff were poorly skilled and unmotivated. We brought our kids (aged 5 & 9) to the insect handling... More

Butterfly World is much more than just Butterflies - in fact if you are going purely for the Butterflies you are currently likely to be disappointed. But, if you are looking for somewhere suitable to take a mixed group of adults and young children then I do not think you will be disappointed (just remember the that whole site is... More

We read the descriptions of the attraction on the Internet. I simply defy any right thinking individual to recognise that the half constructed, I'll maintained builders yard that we visited can even remotely be described as the best butterfly farm in the world. The rotten timber frames housing the few specimens in the butterfly house is in poor shape and... More

We go every year to see how much the project has progressed. The tempory butterfly house is great for hands on butterfly fun. My nephew has been from the start of the project and is keen to see the finished butterfly dome. The meadows are full of colour and insect life. The restaurant is reasonable with a good kids meal... A smallish butterfly house, about the same size as the one at London Zoo. Filled with impressive butterflies and moths, but given it's called Butterfly World, we expected a bit more. However, the display gardens are really well laid out, a diversity of styles and ideas as well as a massive field of beautiful sunflowers and pond areas etc. The... More

we stopped here on our way home from week staying in hertfordshire, seemed quite big until you get inside and find out that is no where near finished. But was a nice afternoon out, the tearoom is very very overpriced so id recommend taking a picini. we watched the ants working, carrying along leafs which was pretty cool then went... More

Love it here, yes it's not finished. So don't expect a polished day out, but for a wander round some interesting gardens with my toddler it's perfect. I don't understand the bad reviews especially when it's so cheap to get in! That said food is pricey More

We went to the fireworks display which was fab however the lack of organisation left us spending the evening queuing for drinks, separate queues for food and sweets. We had paid over the phone and in advance but had to queue in a separate queue for the telephone payments and another queue for online payments- it was crazy. There were... More
