Rude staff, overpriced restaurant, extremely expensive ticket prices, uninformed guides - this place is no more than a rip-off designed to squeeze money out of your average tourist. You cannot even visit the house where Elizabeth I spent her younger days, as this is reserved for functions and corporate events (ie, making more money) Do not go here if you... more

We visited Hatfield House in April 2005. It was a rainy day that became sunny, just long enough to peruse the gardens and take some nice shots of the house, the old palace and the gardens. It was beautiful, a great break from the hustle and bustle of London, only a twenty minute train ride away from King's Cross Station.... more
