Interesting display of early photos taken by Julia Cameron about 150 years ago. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY THIS IS A MUST.Free entry forthose holding National Art Pass If not the tea room is full of "naughty " food - very enjoyable. They have contemporary exhibitions on as well for added interest. More

A very interesting museum with fascinating examples of early pioneering photography. The cafe is very good, and the home made cakes are absolutely gorgeous. My only quibble is the seats, which are very uncomfortable. However, the quality of the food and the cakes in particular go some considerable way to balancing this. A great place to visit. More

This is more than a museum - not only does it have a good collection of early photographs (including Tennyson) but there is usually an exhibition of the work of current photographers. The cafe serves good wholesome and interesting food, and often has evening gatherings for music or talks. More

Visited here lots of times. Apart from examples of her work, there is always a current exhibition including one of the Isle of Wight Pop Festivals. Very good tea room. More

Enjoyed a meal here and the food was excellent, even made up something not on the menu, and the staff were really pleasant. Thoroughly recommended. More

...not people all dressed up, but a real feeling of someone living here and doing something very special... inventing portrait photography. This gallery/museum/tearoom should be better known. What Julia Margaret Cameron did here... in the very early and experimental days of photography... was revolutionary. More

We visited here for a secret auction it was full of people all ages that mingled as if they knew each other for years it was great fun walking around and putting bids on things and seeing if you've won! I hope they do this again! They offered cakes and wine for a pityful donation it was a wonderful evening More

Interesting and unique museum. Fascinating exhibitions about Julia Margaret Cameron, the restoration of the buildings plus the history of the Isle of Wight pop festivals. The cafe has an excellent range of home made cakes which really are home made. Well worth a visit. More

We had tea and cake on a lovely sunny day before popping down the beach. The tea rooms a quite victorian and make a nice change. Service was good, prices fair and they even had a great tasting gluten free apricot cake! Only down side was one choice of ice cream (Walls Vanilla); Come on - lots of local ice... More
