The problem with the steam railway is that it goes from nowhere, to nowhere. We loved this the staff are great, fantastic trains ,our kids loved it ( 2 and 4) so did their parents. We worth going first class if you can we had our own compartment. Would love to have another go. more

It was purely by chance that I came across this railway when on a day trip to the Isle of Wight. I found that the trains were vintage throughout (not modern-ish carriages hauled by an old locomotive) - everything seemed to match and be beautifully preserved. I went to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway on Monday and just wanted to say how great it was. I've been to the Island on holiday from Southampton and the railway was by far the best place I visited. I visited the Isle of Wight Steam Railway with my husband and two daughters and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The trains are beautifully kept and in pristine condition.
