I think our oarsman was Ben but I am not sure. The trip was fascinating, the river quiet, the sights like being taken on a back stage tour, and the commentary amusing and learned at the same time.
I am not sure why several people have written such scornful reviews - were they on the same trip as we were?...

A fun and different way to see some sites of Canterbury. Our guide was Ben (Hi Ben), who was very informative and entertaining. The river is beautiful, so even if you are not a history buff it is an enjoyable trip. The river is very clear and not deep. Definately worth the money.

The Canterbury Riverboat tour is well worth a visit! Tom was a great host, very knowledgeable and entertaining.
Make sure you use the Original Canterbury River boat tour (Blue T-shirts) on the bridge by The Old Weavers. There is another company also running tours but they only took me down half the river!

We were fortunate to squeeze in a riverside boat tour in November and just before dusk. Not only did we greatly enjoyed the beauty of the natural environment surrounding us but also the cultural richness of Canterbury - above all its historical anecdotes - and the very british humor of our guide - as well as the impressive rowing. Definitely worth it!

What a wonderful way to see parts of Canterbury that are easily missed! I particularly enjoyed hearing about and seeing the Greyfriars Island as well as seeing the original portion of the road bridge across the Stour.
The river and it's surrounds are truly beautiful and the tour is the perfect way to enjoy the peace and traquility and bask...

We came from Brighton to visit Canterbury and decided to go on the boat trip and so glad we did. The scenery was lovely. Matt our guide was very funny and informative. It was so peaceful and relaxing and a great start to our day in Canterbury. Would definetly recommend it!

This was a gentle, sedate look at Canterbury. It covers a small section of the Stour River in central Canterbury but our guide, John's patter ( he has a voice for radio) made it very interesting and entertaining.
You dont pay until the end of the trip £8.00 or nothing if you didn't enjoy - but what was not to...
