Having read some bad reviews prior to my visit I decided to go with an open mind as we were in the area and took up their offer on half price entry on Fridays. It therefore only cost us £13 for 3 people. I thought as it was half price then it would be busy as it was school holidays,... more

This supposed attraction is a complete waste of money and space for that matter. I was actually quite excited to see what all the fuss of dickens world was about, only to be extremely disappointed. When i asked to speak with the manager I was told I couldn't, now what kind of a place that you've paid £47.50 to get... more

Finally got to take the family (10 & 14 yr old children) plus 14 yr old Russian student, who at least has heard of Charles Dickens, this weekend. Entrance was £42-ish for the 5 of us, which was ok. Now, my 14 yr old, who'd been sulking all the way down, because he didn't want to go, upon entering uttered... more

Adult admission costs £12.95 and the attraction is about right for the money. Initial impressions are very good when you walk into the courtyard. I enjoyed the boat ride, (amusing if hardly white knuckle,) the 4d cinema, the Pepper's Ghost scene "haunted house" & the stage show. It was quiet when I went during the week, so was not impressed... more

As an avid reader of charles Dickens I went to Dickens World expecting to be entertained and informed about this great writer and his characters. what I found was a confusing, half hearted very limited thing in a large warehouse and worse of all - Dickens World managed to make Dickens and his characters incredibly boring!!! What a missed opportunity.... more

We very much wanted to like Dickens World; by the time we left, we felt sorry for the staff working there. There was virtually nothing to do - the Haunted House contained a series of unimpressive, disconnected and poorly acted vignettes that were dull and uninvolving. The 4D (or was it 3D?) cinema was probably the best attraction, but the... more

Well Cool - loved it!! The staff in character were excellent and I found out a lot more than I thought I would about the period. Not just for young families, I went with a couple of mates and it was cool. Pub lunch after rounded everything off nicely. more

I visited recently Dickens World with my 16 year old son during a Sunday afternoon. I hadn't read any reviews on here beforehand and wasn't sure what to expect. First imprssions were good - greeted by costumed staff explaining what was where and an impressive Victorian Courtyard. However, the lack of patrons was palpable. We first went to the Britannia... more

After hearing varying reviews for this attraction I thought I would give it a go for myself and can say that my day out was thoroughly enjoyable. I visited with my mother (aged 70) and my daughter (aged 12) and although my mother was originally daunted by the boat ride after gentle coaxing from myself and a variety of Victorian... more
