Very informative about Campbell and Bluebird - we spent ages there even our 10 year old, but Ruskin is less interesting. Has the supposed original Amazon from Ransome's time.

Great Museum if you are interested in Ruskin and/or Donald Campbell. Parking not easy but well worth a visit. I fear for the queues if ever they get the restored Bluebird on permanent display (possibly in 2012).

Very expensive for what you get, which is a piece of the bluebird's wing. Very disappointing. This is a very small museum, which in my opinion should be free or no more than 1 or 3 pounds to visit. It is actually nearer 6 pounds per person.
Ruskin fans, go to Brantwood instead, it is much better value for money.

I became fascinated by John Ruskin after visiting Brantwood (near Coniston, his home in later life) in March 2008. When I returned to the Lakes in September 2008, I couldn't wait to see the Ruskin Museum and go back to Brantwood.
