I became fascinated by John Ruskin after visiting Brantwood (near Coniston, his home in later life) in March 2008. When I returned to the Lakes in September 2008, I couldn't wait to see the Ruskin Museum and go back to Brantwood. I would highly recommend going to the Ruskin Museum following a visit to Brantwood.
