On a trip to Borrowdale we visited the Bowder stone. Part of the enjoyment is seeing the stone appear, if you have not seen it before. The bowderstone is in the beautiful valley of Borrowdale and while it is an interesting geological feature and free to visit, there are more interesting and attractive things to do in Borrowdale (e.g. Derwentwater, Catbells, Honister Slate Mine).
