Some of the things you must try if you visit Lake Windermere. Take a ride on one of the lake cruisers, preferably the larger ones, 'Swan' and 'Teal', they travel from Ambleside at one end of the lake to Lakeside at the other via Bowness, a 10 mile trip. If you remember to travel around the lake remember to have plenty of coins to pay for parking as we missed out of a couple of areas that we wanted to see because we used all of our coins on the ferry. A good day anyway. More

Have spent many happy times here. Beautiful in every changing season. All the lakes have a special magic, some remote, quiet, peaceful but Windermere is the largest and most touristy.
