We stopped off at this visitor centre as part of a cruise on the lake. We walked up to the gardens by zigzagging through the various paths to reach the cafe where there is a nice terrace overlooking the gardens and with a distant view of the Lake. The main colour in the gardens was brought by the rhododendrons and... More

I visited Brockhole on the 9th May 2012 with my family. We had a lovely wander around the grounds and my two girls had a fantastic time playing in the playground. It is somewhere I would have recommended a visit to if it wasn't for the parking fine I received through the post this morning, issued because we stayed for... More

We stopped for lunch and to pick up some information on local activities. The food was ok but the service was s-l-o-w. We had finished our coffee well before the food arrived. Our 14 month old daughter loved the playground (we had trouble getting her out of the ship) and the gardens have many lovely picnic spots with tables and... More

We visited Brockhole on the 3rd of May 2012 and our grandchildren had a marvelous time at the adventure playground, but it was spoiled by being caught by the Private Eye parking camera (which we were'nt warned about) after slightly exceeding our alloted time - an expensive visit to a place we will avoid in the future. Me and my partner came here for a brisk walk as the weather was gorgeous. We really enjoyed it. Especially the zip wires!! They were brilliant. Who says they are just for kids =] They are currently in the process of improving the attraction, seems like an adventure playground but above ground, in the trees. It is crazy but looks... More

What a fantastic place for a couple of hours. We regularly go to Brockhole to exercise our 6 yr old daughter. Yes - you have to pay for parking, but its not rocket science putting a couple of pounds in the machine, just don't be late! Great adventure playgound - free, shop and information centre, very good cafe and beautiful... More

Indoor play area was really poor and there was a lot of construction going on and so it was very inconvenient. The gardens also have loads of stairs with little thought / access to prams / pushchairs. The car park is also a mine for fines - watch out More

I am sorry that you didn't have such a good day. The construction is the Tree Top Trek new high ropes and zip wire attraction that is openning on the 1st June and should have only effected the area around the car park. As for acessibility - the gardens are Grade 2 listed and the layout and design are one... More

Visited Centre, looked in shop, played in Park and got £90 fine from Parking Eye for being about 15 mins over in the Car Park. No proper signage to say your time starts from the actual entrance of the place and not the time you put your money into the machine. Won't be visiting there again!! More

I would like to respond to your complaint about parking. We want to ensure that everyone at Brockhole has a great time and have seen over 200,000 visitors visit in 2011/12 with high positive customer service feedback.
