All your favourites are here including big cats, elephants, giraffes, sealions, gorillas, orangutans, camels, zebras and many, many more. - APCMannRochdale, United Kingdom491 contributionsSanctuaryA nice Zoo with a varied collection. Quite popular too. The highlight for me was the Sea Lions. Refreshment stops are provided and even on a weekday the Zoo seems to be a favourite for family outings. Booking can be made online. Major Credit Cards are accepted.Visited October 2022Written 29 March 2023
- Mandy8 contributionsLovely day outGreat day out at the zoo last week. The zoo was clean and tidy and plenty of areas to sit and relax. You could see the animals very close up. A fab day out for any family who loves animals loved the monkeys ouragatangs and farm animals. A easy walk from Victoria hospital if using public transport out of season but in season there it a bus stop outside the zoo. Some of the exhibits were closed but it didn't spoil the dayVisited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 March 2023
- Richard G2 contributionsGood day out - watch out for additional chargesA good day out, nice zoo. Saw a good range of animals. Only marked 4 stars as we paid ~£70 for a family of 4 and the Zoo still charges for additional items such as Parking at the zoo, bouncy castles and train rides in the zoo.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 April 2023
- Rob AKingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom389 contributionsNice spring bank holiday zoo visit in the rainWe visited the zoo on a cold wet rainy easter Monday. As you arrive you learn you need to also pay for parking although it was only £3 for the day. There are toilets just in the main entrance for those who have had a long journey which was a relief. We paid for our visit online and I would recommend doing this as it is cheaper to do it, You can also buy mean vouchers when you book too but more on the food later. Entering the zoo was quick and straight forward. I would highly recommend taking a picture of the animal talk times as there not well advertised once in the park. We made our way to the elephants which are amazing animals however they didn't seem to have much space to roam around which is sad to see. All the animals on the day were mainly inside as it was raining (did i mention that? lol) However alot of the enclosures had viewing galleries of the insides so i don't think there was an animal we couldn't see. There are a couple of places to purchase food, drinks and Starbucks onsite with the café in the middle where you can use your meal vouchers here for meals such as burger/chicken burger and chips, pizza or gourmet hotdog. It did get busy with the rain but we managed to sit still. As advertised the big cat enclosure was shut and the bird exhibits were closed (as of April 2023) which we knew about and expected. The Digger ride on pound machines need more gravel in the trough to be able to scoop up and tip out, we wasted a pound on this! Why only a 4 star review? For the price we paid we could have gone to another well known zoo in the north west which has way more to see and do. I would love to see more added to Blackpool zoo over the coming years to really make it stand out of the crowd. More reptiles more indoor exhibits similar to zoos such as Wroclaw zoo in Poland. Could have been a 5/5 but fell slightly shortVisited April 2023Written 12 April 2023
- Ashleigh C3 contributionsGreat day outWent here for a family trip this week and it was wonderful! Weather was great and all of the animals appeared very well looked after. Staff all very nice and the sea lion show was a hit with the kids. Food isn’t great for the prices charged but feel free to bring a picnic!Visited April 2023Written 28 April 2023
- Jillian D1 contributionlLovely ZooWhat a lovely day out. managed to see all the animals. We were greeted by the male peacock as we walked in, he was trying his best to impress the females but to no avail. Everywhere is spot less and there seemed to be a lot less seagulls than last time! The male gorilla never fails to impress. The only downside was the rats in the winged world area feeding out of the bird feeders. Hope they leave the birds alone.Visited May 2023Written 13 May 2023
- Gill MurphySowerby Bridge, United Kingdom599 contributionsFabulous day outFabulous day out. This was my first visit to Blackpool Zoo. I loved it. Plenty of animals to see and all looked very well cared for. Unfortunately the bid cat enclosure was closed for renovations, but I will return once the renovations are completed. - sje1983North Wales, United Kingdom14 contributionsGreat zooFirst time visiting this zoo and loved it! Got a taxi right up to the entrance and arrived just after 10am so no queue to get in. Nice size zoo it took us about 5 hours to go all around (we took our time) and that is with eating dinner there too. The zoo is generally clean and accessible as majority of it is on the flat and lots of seats around if you need a break. It was nice to see the new lion enclosure, plenty of demonstrations to see and there were only a couple of animals we didn’t get to see as they were sleeping/hiding. Ate in the main cafe loved the fries but not so keen on the burger (might just be our taste buds) the meal deals are approximately £10 each but there were other options available on the menu and there is also a subway. Also had an ice cream before we left highly recommend ice cream cookie sandwich with a choice of ice creams. I highly recommend visiting.Visited May 2023Written 29 May 2023
- talktomeNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom115 contributionsWould return. We recently visited as a family of 5. The sealion demonstration was fantastic, and their pool was lovely, as was the big cat enclosure. Others such as the otter enclosure, or the elephants just seemed filthy and too small for them, the smell of the otter water was unbearable to be around and looked like it needed a good clean. It was extremely busy when we visited, but still space to move around and see everything. Could definitely do with more parking ticket machines, as the queues were huge!Visited May 2023Written 30 May 2023
- David RHuddersfield, United Kingdom262 contributionsGreat experienceWe were delighted with out overall experience at Blackpool Zoo during our recent visit with two of our grandchildren. Having booked tickets online prior to our visit we were expecting long queues given our early arrival was already into the overflow car park! But we were wrong and able to enter straight away. All the animals were clearly well attended to and the new wild cat enclosure was very pleasing. In our four hour stay we were able to navigate the entire zoo.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 June 2023

I am a foster parent and attend the zoo quire a bit, as the children in my care love it and enjoy the freedom and being outdoors I was going to get a year membership today and explained that the children in my care change through out the year, could I get a family one with both my husband and myself but 2 unnamed children. i n produce paperwork to show that i am a foster parent and was told no as I could be using it to bring anyone in. I am going to look around for alternative day out for my charges.

Me and my partner visited on Friday 8th march. We arrived mid afternoon and the weather was cold so it was nice and quiet. We enjoyed a lovely walk around. The tigers, elephants and giraffes were our favourites but the baby orangutan was adorable. All of the food and drink places were closed which was a shame as it would have been nice to get a hot coffee or something to warm up. The signs all around with little facts on are great. It was actually nice not having the kids with us so we could do it at our own pace and we were in and out in about an hour and a half.

We had a really enjoyable time at Blackpool zoo.
The zoo is set in plenty of space and the animals looked engaged and their enclosures looked well kept.
We took a picnic to eat and used tesco bouchers to make up most of the entrance fee, so it made it a pretty cheap day out.

My son loves it here. This was out thirs visit. We had a really good time and got to see all the animals. We went in the Blackpool off season so it was really quiet too and we got lucky with the weather which was great.
The bird feeding was a lovely activity to get up close with the parrots, although £1 a pop is a bit steep as you need 3/4 pots to really enjoy it.
We got lucky and got to see the lions eat his dinner and also watched a few informative talks.
My so also enjoyed a break in the play area and farm part which broke the visit up a little bit. It's nice to see the lions back and enjoying life at the zoo.
All in all we can't fault this zoo, we always return, and will return again.
The only reccomendations I could give the zoo for future expansion is it would be nice to see a insect section indoors and a lizard / amphibian part with crocodiles and things.
The only negative about the visit was the food. The pizza was fine but the burger was terrible. The bread tasted bad and the meat was like earing rubber, it was inedible.

Visited the zoo on the Friday of the February half term holidays. We visited as 2 adults and our young children 2yrs, 4yrs & 6yrs. The zoo is certainty worth a visit if you are in the area. The kids especially had a great time despite the wet conditions with the rain didn’t dampen our spirits. The keepers seemed well educated and happy to answer any questions our young family asked and during the regular talks they hold whilst you are there. Great time had by all.

A fabulous day out. We were abit apprehensive at first due to it being a weekend and half term, however even though the car park was full, the zoo did not feel overcrowded. The restaurant is a bit pricey and felt more like a school canteen.

We had a lovely day out at Blackpool Zoo, was a fairly cold breezy day so most of the animals were staying warm inside however was interesting observing their behaviour and enjoying the quietness of the zoo before the busy summer season kicks in.
Lucas the keeper gave a really informative and enjoyable talk on the big cats.
Nice to see lots of enrichment for the animals.
Four stars as the local discount didn't work online, when entering the first 3 letters of postcode in promo code box it should provide a discount which would have saved us £8 it said this had been applied however still came up as full price but other than that a lovely day out.

Just a funny one really, My 6 year old daughter has just visited the zoo with her school and she is absolutely adamant that the ostriches or possibly Emus were walking around freely near the cafe apparently haha, Please can someone reply and tell her they are enclosed so I can show her as I can’t convince her that they are too big and could hurt us if they were roaming around, This debate needs settling lol as she wont give up 😂😂

Keeper Academy, aimed at the 15-17yr age group.
Is it any good, and do the kids learn enough over the 5 day course.
Thinking of treating my nephew, who loves animals, already done the Keeper Kids 2 day course a few years ago, and loved it
But with this Covid virus, hanging over the UK attractions, its difficult to book anywhere in advance.
If anyone has attended this course roughly what time of year was it

Hi, if we bring a picnic with us, are there any lockers to store it in or are we allowed back out to the car to collect it?

I seen a lot of people bring their own food / picnics, we ate food from the cafe which was spot on, you can go back and forth to your car as many times as you like
