This is like stepping back in time - its so cute and relaxed. Makes a great change from the corporate cinemas. They do insist on having an interval, so the film sometimes stops at a random juncture, while the lights come up and ice creams are sold -but it all adds to the charm!. The cinema also shows classic movies... More

I've been to this cinema a few times, & I just love the character of the place. It has velvet curtains like you find in a theater that dramatically sweep open when the film is about to start. They also have an interval, so you can stretch your legs/ go the toilet etc. It's a great place for all ages,... More

Woolton Picture house is probably one of the oldest cinema's in the North West (not a proven fact!). It is situated nestled up a one way street in woolton village, It has only one screen but shows up to date films and gives off a lovely warm vibe. The concession stand before you enter the movie is a little pricey... More

This cinema is so lovely.. it is an old style picture house - they have an interval half way through the film, they have a cornetto lady coming around with icecreams during the interval too. More

One of a few surviving suburban private picture houses. I love this place. 4 stars only because of parking difficulties. More

Great night out, you almost feel like you are going back in time it is great for the old and young, it is a reminder of what all cinemas use to be like. For those who live locally it is a symbol of a community resource. Everyone who loves the cinema needs to visit this place the seating almost hugs... More

what a lovely way to watch a film! this place exudes character and soul, totally unlike the vacuous soulless multi plexs. I loved the staff, the atmosphere and the ice cream interval is fantastic. the ladies toilet needs a bit of work and the speed of the sales of the ice cream need addressing as they seem to do an... Great traditional feel to this place with proper seating, plenty of room and even a halftime ice cream interval. This is a great place to watch a movie especially when compared to cattle Market cine-complex places Central location in Woolton Village means you can even have a pint afterwards in a normal pub More

Very disappointed local, who always supports local buisness but after tonights shambles will never go to Woolton cinema again. Wanted to go and watch Harry Potter and as expected was bit of a que. After waiting a hour and finally getting near to the door was told it was fully booked by all the online sales and to come back... More
