We only went into the Bluecoat cafe for a coffee and had a lovely cup of coffee and it was very reasonable. Other people were eating and the food looked good,

We went here three times during a weekend in Liverpool.
The first time was to have a tea break during our shopping, the selection of teas on offer was from Brew, which was nice and there was some tasty cake on sale too. The weather was nice so we had it in a secluded courtyard away from the shopping bustle....

I regularly walk through this place as I go from A to B in the city. It's central Liverpool's oldest surviving building (c. 1715) and was originally a school. Rather pleasant to look at, with a decent ground floor cafe, and pleasant leafy interior courtyard. More substantial food available upstairs.

This building is not terribly well signposted and is off the main shopping street in the City centre. In this cultural oasis you will find dinky shops, ever changing exhibitions and reasonably priced fresh food. So if you need a break from the trials and tribulations of Primark then definitely head this way.

Family day at the Annual Liverpool Arabic festival in early July is a great cultural event that my friend and I go to every year. Its alwasy different. There are Arabic foods on sale, a 'bazaar' with exotic colourful trinkets, costumes, ornaments to buy, fantastic live bands in the garden from all over the middle east for free and exhibitions...

This is a really unusual and interesting place. The original building is a culture vulture's dream on its own. However, step inside and the eclectic collection of restaurants, cafes and art can occupy you for a few hours at least.
