We decided to have a ride over to Speke Hall for a day out - more like 30 minutes. We paid £4.75 each to have a look around the "gardens and grounds" rather than the £8 for the house tour as well. Speke Hall is a very small house, but filled with lovely antique furniture and some interesting history. I went with my son who is 6 and they gave him a quiz to do while he walked around. Visited here approximately two years ago with my children who were aged 10 and 8. The staff were very friendly and pointed out interesting facts and details for our children. My children are not the type to enjoy a tour of a house but they both thoroughly enjoyed their day. more
A lovely old house with lots of Victorian elements, fabulous William Morris wallpapers, and the guides, all but one.. ( there is always one ! ) were friendly and humourous and knowledgeable. The Coffe Shop was great, and has Gluten free foods which is unusual... even more unusual wat the fact it was tasty too ! Dianne more
