Take the Underground to get places quick and cheap. After about 5 minutes of studying the map you will have it down perfectly. On the weekends they do close some of the locations so you have to find alternative ways to get to a destination. The ticket representative failed to mention that when I told them where I was going... more

Purchased the Visitor Oyster Card from Visit Britian; which enabled us to go directly to the underground without standing in line to obtain tickets or the pass. Convenient to use; however we did have a couple of surprises. 6.30 pounds is the most you will be charged in a day to use the pass; we started with 10.00 pounds and... more

I visited London for a week and this was my first time using the Tube. I found that it was dirty, hot, somewhat slow, and very confusing. I bought a day pass everyday and that worked for me. It is extremely hot inside the stations so beware. The crowds are horrible, too. Avoid the Tube at rush hour, there will... more

The Tube is easy to navigate, has great coverage of the inner city, and many of the lines conveniently cross over each other. It also covers a decent amount of the suburbs and Heathrow. The buses offer comprehensive coverage of greater London, and you'll need them because the train only runs until midnight. On my recent trip to London, I... more

The Tube is a great way to navigate the busy London without any fuss. The trains are ok and they come every minute or so. The only big problem in my eyes is where on earth do you go for a toilet ? Only few stations have their own toilets and then when you really need to go and find... more

As being a disabled person confined to being in a wheelchair, I decided to catch the underground tube to the London city to do a bit of sight seeing as one would expect a tourist to do. My parents and I encountered difficulties with getting on and off the trains without the assistance of portable ramps as they have them... more

Living in Winnipeg, rapid transit is an oft-debated subject. I often take the bus and never felt embarrassed by it (it's lack of air conditioning, the fact that they're never on time, etc.). However, after returning from London and riding their infamous Tube, I now see just how wonderful mass transit can be! Riding the Tube is an experience not... more

London Tube is a very easy and inexpensive way to get around London. We arrived at Heathrow and took the tube to our downtown hotel. You can purchase travel cards for 7 days all zones or a 3 day card. At the airport the tube folks were very helpful in getting us the cheapest rates for our stay. They advised... more

The tube is a convenient way to get from point A to point B while resting your tired feet. It is Crowded! especially during the morning and evening rush hour, but throughout the day its not so bad. It seems as if its the general rule to avoid eye contact while riding on the tube. Everyone reads, plays on an... more

As a first timer to London I found it easy to get around on the tube. Luckily, our hotel was a short walk from a tube station. I picked up a tube map at the station and from there it was easy to get to practically any destination within London. I stayed within the downtown zone and didn't have to... more
