Third visit over 5 or 6 years and as good as ever. Walk in early evening, good food and reasonably priced. Well trained staff and traditional atmosphere. More

About 20 of us sat down to a meal the other night. I think you were lucky if the chef had cooked a steak to your liking as no one asked for preferences. The starter of salmon lacked imagination. However as an experience with attentive staff it provided a lovely atmosphere for our party. We are tempted to go back... More

We visited L'Escargot taking advantage of the Telegraph 2 meals for £60 offer. We were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our table. The restaurant was only half full (but it was a Monday lunchtime) but did not feel too cold or bright. Our complimentary champagne arrived and we were taken through the menue by the very friendly waitress. To... More

Like many I suspect, we went on the £30 each offer and I expected that we might get a second class service. However, we didn't and I'd thoroughly recommend the experience. A great deal on the food, it was delightfully presented, the service was attentive, the atmosphere pleasant and it's in a good location if you are staying in central... More

I had read previous poor reviews and thought they may have been from competitors or just plain miserable people. However they were right. I thought long and hard before writing this as I do not like to complain. We were there on a "deal" which gave a galss of champagne on arrival, 3 courses and coffee and chocoaltes to follow... More

I went to this restaurant last night not knowing that a) it was a michelin star restaurant and b) that a celebrity chef owned it. Having just googled the restaurant and discovered this, I am literally shocked as my meal was mediocre at best. Our table ordered the steak, the salmon and the tuna, all of which were over cooked... What a gorgeous fine dining venue. Romantic, beautiful fine dining experience, attentive service. Why is this listed as nightlife though - it is a truly remarkable restaurant. More

From the time you step through the door you are in for a treat. The service is very efficient yet friendly and the food was excellent. All in all a great experience. More
