The Dickens House is a Must See for anyone who loves Charles Dickens. They have a permanent collection, as well as rotating exhibitions covering various themes from the author's life and works. I had been looking forward to exploring the Dickens Museum, however it was a good example of how not to do museums. It was fusty, poorly laid out and very little to look at and learn. My husband and I visited the Dickens House and loved it. I am a huge fan of Dickens and I was moved by the turquoise ring he gave to his wife for their engagement. Our visit to Dickens House was an absolute delight for many reasons. The staff and volunteers are wonderful and we hit upon a day where there was a hands on demonstration. My visit to te Dickens House Museum made my day. It was cold, and rainy (duh) and I had been anticipating it. I had always wanted to go in the house of one of my favourite authors. Now I have, and I am happy and content. more
