I am a lady in my 60s and as old as the tradition of the Norwegian Christmas Tree. What a magical place it was to visit - carols and twinkling lights - it was the start of Christmas. I can't help but feel disappointed in the tree the last few years. Who on earth decided that the lights should be... more

I paid a visit to Trafalgar Square not too long ago. I was alone and enroute to meet my wife for lunch. As I came up out of the tube and onto the square, I found myself right in the middle of a huge demonstration. I must admit, I was caught off guard and had not expected what I had... more

This is just one of those places you have to go if you visit London. It may not take a lot of time (unless you go in the National Gallery, etc) and may not blow you away, but nevertheless you should definately swing through. I'm sure if you're visiting London you'll end up nearby anyways. I posted some maps, photos... more

I visited Trafalgar Square in July 2008 on a sunny day. I originally went because I was on one of those Hop on and Hop Off tours (Big Bus Company) and decided to take a stop here. What a fanastic square! It was busy and lively with the lovely weather. Kids were playing, there was tourists and the space was... more

Trafalgar Square used to be a place that only tourists went to if they wanted a picture in front of Nelson’s Column, but over the past few years Mayor Livingstone and his Greater London Authority have turned it into a real community gathering place for Londoners. The pedestrianisation of the area in front of the National Gallery has calmed the... more

Trafalgar Square is the absolute best spot in London to people watch. Situated within walking distance of Westminister Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, theatre district and Piccadilly Circus (amongst others), grab a seat near the entrance of the National Gallery and watch people from all walks of life pass by. more

I had about an hour seeing Evita and went to Trafalgar square to relax. It was so crowded with kids everywhere, models that move with the wind and lots of tourists snapping away. It was great just sitting on the steps watching the world go by. A great way to fill up some time. Unfortunately the column was being renovated... more

the only good thing about this place is that it's next to everywhere else so you will come across it during your trip but there's nothing to see here. A big monument..wowee! As for the pigeons...there's only about 3 of them. couple of other statues and a few fountains. YAWN. more

Trafalgar Square is the place to start your tour of London. Arrive via the tube and crane your neck up as you walk out to get a glimpse of Nelson atop his pedastal. It feels like the center of things. It is great having the option of heading down the Mall to Buck House or down Whitehall to Parliament. Go... more
