We was told to take the tube, because it is so fun. It was hell! Standing room only even at 10pm. The train broke down several times, and we waited each time no less than 15 min. Pay for a cab if you are visiting and not commuting every day.

Don't get overwhelmed! The Tube is incredibly easy to understand and stops are all over London. There are also signs everywhere to make sure you get to the right stop. Waiting times are very short, but be aware you may need to stand when it's busy.

I was really nervous about the tube, worried about it being dirty, smelly etc
It was fab, amazingly efficient way to travel around and having an oyster card made it even easier
I loved the experience and was surprised how clean and how frequent the tube was
