The Freud museum was good-lovely house with some gorgeous things from Freud's time in London. It is just a house so it was very small so if we hadn't used a 2-4-1 voucher I think the rating would be lower. There was an artist exhibition on which meant that some of the rooms weren't as they usually would be which... More

Compared to Vienna's Sigmund Freud museum, which is frightfully boring and almost pointless, Freud's London home where he died is quite interesting. The rooms are decorated, maybe not with it's original features but in a way that you can imagine Freud would have lived in. And there's plenty of information about Psychoanalysis and the man himself. My husband had gone to the Freud house in Vienna, but all the family's possessions were gone. Visiting the Freud house in London was much more interesting because it had Freud's own collections and papers and so on. Not to mention the very couch he used for his psychoanalytic sessions. and home movies that also featured the family dog. All... More

Re-inspired having seen A Dangerous Method I did a bit of research online and came across this place. It wasn't quite what I expected, given Freud's acclaim and noted family successors. But for £6 and a little detour with plenty of other attractions around Hampstead on the doorstep, it wasn't a complete wasted journey. There also seem to be upgrade... More

As soon as we got out of the subway I started noticing signs directing the Freud Museum. That was extremely convenient cause its not in a very big road. The museum was well structured and the house is lovely. I really enjoyed all the exhibits and the explanations that they had. Bad thing is that you are not allowed to... More

I'm in the field so this was of particular interest to me. I was a bit hesitant, knowing that Sigmund Freud only lived here for a year, and there's another museum in his Vienna home. But I was pleasantly surprised. The Freuds moved all their belongings to London so all of their furniture and Freud's collections are in this house.... More

I found it fairly interesting, Freud's collection is not that well displayed, you cannot get very close to look at it, which is a shame. More

Before you go, a crucial bit of information: Sigmund Freud only lived here in the final year of his life, when he was very frail. This is not where 'it all happened': that was in Vienna. So please don't go and feel disappointed (as some of the visitors were when I was there). However, this place is an interesting museum,... More

Real atmosphere: imagine yourself goin for a first meeting with Dr. Freud. The house is not large but you can imagine what it might have been like to go into his consulting room. Also the peaceful garden. More

I used to live opposite this museum, and a friend is a trustee but perhaps I am biased. How many times have we said. "Its a Freudian slip" or "Oedipus Complex". He must be powerful if Woody Allen still goes to analysis. I was analysed by an accordion playing bon viveur called Pat, who lived up the road. I adored... More
