Having thoroughly enjoyed our trip on the Spirit of Chartwell, we decided to book their sister ship "Passpartout". They then contacted us to say that due to a fire in the engine room during refitting for summer, our booking had to be cancelled. After emails and phone calls we think we might be getting our money back. If this happens... More

Living by the Thames, we have seen the Spirit of Chartwell go past many a time and wondered what it would be like. So this summer we took the plunge and booked ourselves a day trip. Unfortunately the experience did not start well, with a lady on the phone in customer services, not seeming to understand the concepts of customer... More

I took this cruise in august last year and forgot to give a review. It was an absolutely a amazing suprise and the level of service is quite good. We had a nice table to our selves and it was truly an amazing time and would recommend to any one. The food is fresh and well tasty and the vessel... More

I went on line in April 2011 and booked a cruise and two night accommodation on the ‘Spirit of Chartwell’ for April 2012. This booking was intended as a surprise for my wife for a significant birthday on the date we were due to depart. The date was on offer and the booking accepted and full payment taken by the... More

Whilst it is understandable that this guest is disappointed that the sailing he had booked 4 and half months hence - will not operate (for the reasons later stated), this of itself is no reason to incorrectly malign & impugn the reputation of the company. The comments as made as under (1) below are quite disgraceful in that the writer... More

On day one we were met at the gang plank for check-in at 10:30. Our bags were taken off to our cabin, 51. As the weather was good we went to the upper deck to await the Champagne reception which started soon after 11:00, although those of us already there had to wait some time before champagne was brought around... We were actually given tickets for this excellent day cruise, but as my partner said "I would have PAID for it!". In fact, we added to the booking by staying the night in one of the excellent comfortable cabins below decks. The whole experience was extremely well organised. The food was superb, the staff were the best - welcoming, friendly... More

I would not recommend that anyone go on the ‘Passage to Cliveden’ tour for a number of reasons: 1) We went in the 1st weekend of September, our departure was delayed 40 minutes waiting for the coach from London and the river traffic was so bad we had long delays on the locks. Instead of taking 4 hours, the trip... More

This commentary was posted against the ‘Spirit of Chartwell’ whereas it does not relate to this vessel or itinerary rather to that of the MV Passepartout and its voyage and should properly be transferred off by Trip advisor. Time & Tide Kelly M wrote to the company on 19th September 2011 in respect of a day trip on the ‘Passepartout’.... More

I took my wife on the London cruise as a birthday surprise. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. An interesting journey, interspersed by wonderful meals served by extremely pleasant but professional staff. We stayed overnight and our cabin was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, and breakfast kept up the standard. For a luxury London 'venue', prices for drinks were reasonable, as... More

We parked for free at the Runnymede-on-Thames hotel in Egham and boarded just behind the hotel. We set off about 10.40am and proceeded upstream. The Passepartout is an ex amsterdam canal cruiser that has been converted into a 40 seat floating restaurant. It has heating and air con with a small observation deck on the back. As we were on...
