A 400 year old Stuart mansion by the river at Ham, set in fairly ordinary grounds, though the Wilderness garden tour guide tried to make it as interesting as possible. Ham House is unusual in that access is usually by tour and only some rooms are open at a given time. The place is very original and unmolested by modern refurbishment, with fascinating old and very delicate furniture requiring light levels to be kept low.
