A warm summer day in Richmond. Lots of tourists looking for somewhere to visit, but Marble Hill House is only open for 2 guided tours - one at 10:30 and one at 12:00. Arrive after mid-day (as we did) and the custodian will be delighted to turn you away.

I went to visit this property as was in the Richmond area, and thought I'd make good use of my English Heritage membership. It appears some aspects of the visit have changed since the last reviewer's post.

Marble Hill House is a stunning 18th century villa on the river near Richmond but the inside of the house isn't terribly interesting at all. Many of the objects in the house don't seem to have belonged to the house originally, the entire top floor is infested with ladybirds and the staff didn't seem particularly interested in having visitors there....
