My son had a very good experience at our organised tour of the firebrigade museum. We saw leather buckets etc during our talk about the Greta fire of London and most importantly the fire engines. I have lived near here for 25 years and never knew you could visit! This would have been brilliant for my children when they were younger. Our guide was an ex fireman and very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting stories. It takes about 1.5 hours and then you can wander around on your own to check out things you... More

I popped along to the museum having booked it with the very helpful museum staff. You can't go in just on spec so you do need to call. The place is quite hard to find but does live in a part of the city which is real London and not tourist London. Once inside you are treated to an amazing... More

Having been on various fire fighting courses during my sea going career I thought it might be interesting to visit the Fire Brigade Museum the next time I visited London.
