I had wanted to visit the BoEM for a while but only recently managed to get around to it, its got more information than you can imagine and explains the history of the bank and money used in England. It has some great exhibits on how bank notes and coins are made as well. The highlight has to be being... More

I visited the bank of england museum yesterday with my hubby. Great museum as I am interested in money/coins etc but the sour faced staff put me off ever visiting this place again. I was upbeat and in holiday mood but from the minute I entered the Bank museum I felt like I was entering a funeral home. No smiles,... More

I took a group of students here as part of a tourism field trip - the museum was very good, excellent interpretation, hands on activities and we had a great presentation from really helpful, friendly staff. Very impressed - and it's a bit of a hidden gem. More

This museum is fairly unobtrusive as its to the side of the Bank of England. Its free to go in. If you are interested in monetray matters and the history of banking this is a good place to go. It is fairly modest in size so easily do-able when combined with a look around other city institutions. It is a... More

This is an interesting attraction complete with video, audio and interactive attractions. Free admission and minimal hassel, the Bank of England is an interesting heritage experience, perfect for school tours. Don't expect miracles or the thrill of your life but do expect a nice outing. More

you can hold a real block of gold here, although the security is very good. It is very interesting to see the condition s that the bank of England operated in history. Lots of little exhibitions to see about money. Pity a little more about today's role was not available. But worth an hour or so of your time. More

I was just passing with a couple of hours to kill between meetings and found there was a museum here. I found the displays of bank notes and coins fascinating. They were dating back centuries many of which were in my lifetime. I had forgotten the real works of art on our currency. It had well laid out displays and... More
