The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a complete waste of time, money and space. Can't believe the amount they charge to let you into a dingy, smelly, boring little house with little significance or style. The shop was the best part and doesnt cost you. Would be better off just skipping the whole thing though. London has so much more to... more

An extremely small museum. Indeed more stairs, then items of display. Rather, then a museum on a fiction character seems a fiction/non existing museum. The only plus side is it's vicinity to Madame Tussaud's more

We had a fun time visiting this house. It's in a very nice neighborhood, convenient to the Baker Street Underground Station. The house is a multi-level home built in 1815. The top two floors have some amusing wax-like figures of Sherlock Holmes' enemies and characters. Dr. Watson is indeed present, a nice man who truly resembles Dr. Watson of film... more

Yes, it is a bit corny: the fictional house of a fictional character. But it is fun. I enjoyed sitting with the elderly man playing Doctor Watson and chatting on the slow afternoon we were there. The house is full of mementos from different cases. A bit pricey perhaps at £6 each, but then it is London. Easy to access... more

The Museum is filled with items from the fictional detective's career as written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Guests are greeted by a real life Watson who is more than happy to answer questions or be in a photo. I also picked up... more

The house/museum is decorated in the Victorian style and really makes you feel like you time warped back into the life of Sherlock Holmes. Each room has wax models and props depicting a scene from a Sherlock Holmes short story. Best of all: you can take a photo (bring your own camera) with a hired actor dressed as Watson. The... more

Sherlock Holmes--undoubtedly one of the most famous detectives in the world. But he was a fictional character, right? After touring this "museum" in London, visitors almost begin to wonder. Here is the famous hat, pipe and magnifying glass, along with other Holmes memorabilia, convincingly displayed at a famous address (221b Baker Street). Letters and documents attest to the skillful detective's... more
