It is the second class I have taken on "sushi making". The first one, a couple of years ago, left me few pounds lighter and a bit more confused, as it was one of those classes where you looked at the "chef" rolling the sushi, and tasting it later. I did give it a go at home to find that... More

I've been dining out at Sushi restaurants for over 10 years now so thought it was about time I learned how to make it myself. Following a good deal of research on the internet, I chose Reiko Hashimoto's Hashi Cooking school. Before attending the class I went online and watched some of Reiko's tutorial videos I found on Vimeo and... More

Really enjoyed this cooking class with Reiko. Reiko herself was quite astounded to hear that her class was in the top 10 things to do in London on TripAdvisor. It isn't necessarily a thing for 'tourists' to do while here in London, but if you like cooking then hey who I am to say you shouldn't go along. I would... More

I first met Reiko Hashimoto for her Sushi & Sashimi Class in May 07. Since that first fateful encounter, I have attended most of Reiko’s classes, met the most delightful people and learnt a great deal about Japanese cuisine and culture. All classes are held at Reiko’s beautiful home in Wimbledon Park for a small number of people. Sitting by... More

Reiko welcomes you into her home with a cup of green tea and a quick 'get to know everyone' chat. She then takes you through step by step recipes with as much or as little participation as you would like. Whilst cooking, tips are shared and suppliers and restaurants are recommended from both Reiko and guests. At the end of... More

I have attended two of Reiko's classes and currently undergoing one. I love how Reiko teaches and she's very generous with her knowledge. Not only she teaches the dishes she has set for the class, she also includes tips that help to make a successful dishes. Her teaching skills made it easy for me to recreate the dishes at home... Very practical approach, yet losing none of the magic of Japanese aesthetics. Being concerned that a "Cooking for Dummies" was what I truly needed before I even attempted Reiko's classes, I was pleasantly surprised that her beginner classes were highly accessible and not at all intimidating. At the same time, Reiko's very much a perfectionist - so standards are high.... More

I have done 2 of Reiko's classes and found them both to be excellent. The courses are structured really well, so if you are looking to learn gourmet high end cooking, homely day-to-day cooking, or even just the obvious favourites, you can find the course for you. I had struggled to create Japanese dishes just from the cookbooks I had,... More
