What a little gem this theatre is. Unusual in that it is underground, with the dress circle nearest to street level, and the stalls two levels down. The 39 Steps is a wonderfully silly and enjoyable play, extrememly well crafted and performed. A great night out. More

This theatre is tiny and totally lovely with lots of old character and charm. Some of the seats needed to be bolted down again as I am only tiny and when I sat down the seats shot backwards. My husband is 6' 3" and almost had his knees in the ears of the lady in front! so if you are... More

I was apprehensive to book tickets for 39 Steps as I had such fond memories of the 1935 film of 39 Steps starring Robert Donat. However my fears were misplaced, the evening turned out to be one of the most enjoyable for some time. The theatre is very quaint and we had stall seats near the stage. From the moment... More

We visited the Criterion Theatre for the first time, and were surprised to see that it was all underground. The Theatre sprawls out under Picadilly and as far as Jermyn Street! The play itself is very witty, and the cast of 4 should be praised for the energy and enthusiasm that they put into the performance. Whilst starting at 8pm... More

I went with a group of friends... the theatre is small but utterly lovely and all the seats had a great view of the small stage. There were only a few actors playing all the parts, which was a bit strange at first. I have to say, it made me laugh out loud on many occassions and we all thoroughly... More

Saw The Importance of Being Earnest here and really enjoyed the small intimate feeling that this theatre gives. More

Went to see the 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre. Its a shame the theatre is looking a bit tired (triped over a bit of old carpet that was stuck down with tape)! Had seats in the stalls, with great view of the stage, but the some peoples seats squeaked a lot, which must me off putting for the actors.... More

I went reluctantly to see 39 Steps at the Criterion as I didn't think a spy story could be turned into a comedy. I was delightfully wrong!! The cast were brilliant and it was definitely one one the best shows I've seen! More
