I visited City Hall as part of the Open City Weekend in London - it is a stunning building and well worth having a look at. During the open weekend I took the lift up to the 9th floor and out onto the balconies for the panoramic views of the Thames and buildings on the north side of the river....

City Hall is home to the Mayor of London, the London Assembly and the GLA, who in July 2002 became tenants of this striking rounded glass building on the south bank of the Thames near Tower Bridge. Members of the public may visit parts of City Hall Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on occasional weekends.

Well thats an unwelcome first.A realy strange building.I went there for the first time to visit the exhibitions on the Phoexnix east Finchley(3 panels)and the Blitz(13panels).I was vastly underwhelmed.Really not worth the effort i made .Journey time of over 2hours,time spent about 30minutes.
