I did the Monument just before the free walking tour that was offered in the morning, the Monument being the meeting point. It's cheap (well, 3£, but nothing is really cheap in London anyway!), you get in shape with all those stairs, and can get a nice view of the city from the top. I didn't want to do the... more

After walking up 1000+ steps of stairs at St. Paul's Cathedral, we wandered over to the Monument, which required us walking up a couple hundred more steps. The view from the top is beautiful, the monument itself is quite impressive, and you even get a certificate on the way down recognizing that you've walked up all the steps. A nice... more

The Monument has reopened recently. It's now three quid to climb. A word of warning, if you are not fit it is 311 steps up a narrow winding staircase. That is a seriously long way! At the top the views of Tower Bridge, St Pauls and the Thames are fantastic..worth the climb. You get a certificate on the way out... more

You'd be rewarded with excellent views of london. Although it can get quite cramped up there when it gets too crowded. Having said that, if you do only... more

It offers fabulous views of London - great view of Tower Bridge. I made the mistake of thinking it was a piece of cake and immediately... more

For a fabulous view of the London skyline climb the 311 spiral steps up the Monument. It is only two pound (and you get a certificate) and has a 360 degree observation deck. It was nice just to see the city of London from above ground. I highly recommend going up the Monument. But remember, there are 311 steps that... more
