If you love the romance of the 1930s and the furniture and decorations you can not fail to love this place. Each room is stunning with a very good free guide. We got in free with the art card but believe its £9. something normally. Lovely gardens which on the hottest day in May in 2012 was stunning. Spent some... More

A drab, tawdry interior with faux wooden paneling, ugly beige carpet ansd dull ornaments. A truely depressing place inside. Not much to see inside at all. After paying a whopping £9.40 you have the indignlty of having to cover your shoes inside with blue pasitc bags so not to mark the disgusting beige carpet. With regard to the hall I... More

A fascinating blend of 1930s Art Deco with a medieval great hall from the 1470s attached. Unique is really the only way to describe it. There are also 19 acres of gardens around the building so it often feels as if you're in the country and not in south London, though there are excellent views over the city from some... More

I took my parents here while they were visiting us, I'd read a bit about the palace on the english heritage website, the description that it was designed like a 1930's luxury cruise ship was not wrong, it was beautiful and a perfect example of art deco design preserved in time. The Great Hall provides a stark contrast to the... More

Eltham Palace is one of our favourite places, we are members of English Heritage and come here a lot, my children have spent so much time here they think it a home from home. The art deco house is of no great interest to me but the Great Hall with it fine hammer beam roof is worth seeing. Henry V111... More

Loved the Art Deco entrance hall and the dining room, now that was a good way to begin and end the tour. The attraction is under English Heritage contol, if you are not a member the price is a little steep at £9.30 (£9.60 from April 1) for adults. You are given a headset which provides plenty of interesting information... More

I love this place! I visited with my elderly father this time, but there isn't a category for that in the review box. I used to come & peer through the railings at the main gate before the Army vacated & could never have imagined what was concealed behind. English Heritage have done a wonderful job of restoration & manage... More

Architecturally it is fascinating and a gem of it's time. The family history is fascinating and it has very well kept gardens, beautiful in both spring and summer, when I have been. More

It is wonderful to have such a great attraction in my local borough. The interior is a stunning example of the art deco period, In the spring and summer the gardens are lovely and a fairly easy walk More

This is an amazing place with great architecture and history. Who would have thought medieval and art deco went so well together? More
