Neighbourhood: Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.

Might be the best comedy club I’ve visited
I go to a lot of comedy as I used to live in Edinburgh and went to tons of Fringe festival shows - so I think I’ve always been spoilt in this particular area. However, as a venue this place is absolutely fantastic. I have been 5 times and I’m yet to see somebody worse than a 6 out of 10. Plus we’ve also seen quite a few 8+/10 acts. Definitely worth a visit.

I love the Comedy Store Players
Been enjoying the comedy store players for over 15 years and whenever I am in London will try to visit the comedy store. I have bought family, friends and friends from Australia and we always have an amazing time. I bought my partner for the first time on Sun 5th Nov and this was the first time I was worried about if someone would enjoy it as my partner is deaf with only 40 percent hearing so relies on lip reading. He bloody loved it! Aside from a couple of moments when the CSP covered their mouths as part of the improv as pilots and some hair over the face, he understood it all and laughed so much. I was so happy as it is always a worry sharing something you enjoy so much and having a loved one not enjoy it. You are all amazing and we can’t wait to come again. The absence of the wonderful Andy Smart was felt and I want to extend my best wishes to the CSP for this awful loss. Thanks for fun in such a sometimes hard world.

    Improv Is Still A Winner
Well this was a Sunday night treat when generally theatre land is closed. Bought tickets on the back of good reviews for the 1st night of a short stay in London and we were not disappointed ( except for the drinks,I’ll get back to that). From security to the all staff in the Comedy Store, everyone was so welcoming which always puts you in a good frame of mind for the evening ahead. It’s been sometime since we saw improv but it hasn’t lost any of its appeal with some time served comedians delivering the goods, a special mention goes to a local Lass to us, Josie Lawrence who put in a “bostin” shift. The audience also put forward some great scenes to be acted out. I did mention the drinks, we ordered the bar food deal as we would not have time to eat anywhere else on arrival in the capital, the food was fine but we both had a pint of Orchard cider which at best was fizzy apple juice that quickly turned to just apple juice. Sadly this was followed by some very indifferent pints of Stella. That was a minor grumble, don’t let this put you off, it’s a great value for money Sunday night out.

    A great night out
Having been a regular at the previous venue on Leicester Square over 30 years ago this was a welcome return. The venue is great, creating just the right atmosphere and the Sunday evening improv is just the same as it was, good fun and very clever, with many of the old faces still appearing. Back in the day there was no food so this addition is great, and reasonably-priced, especially if you book a package in advance. The pizza was stunning. Overall a great night.

The comedy store in London is one of the best venues for comedy and we paid a bit extra to get an exclusive seat. It’s well worth it. The quality of comedy is off the charts.

Never fails, this is the place to remember what it’s like to have a good laugh for a few hours, remind yourself that life is actually good, whatever the media tells us, and marvel at the brilliance of these amazing improvisers, away from the daily grind of politics, economics, violence, and warfare.
I feel a bit disloyal to the others but I need to mention Pippa Evans’ absolutely priceless musical monologue, of a London Ambulance Service paramedic!!
How did she do that, straight off the bat, and in a left-hand drive ambo as well!!
What a clever and funny lady!

The compere (Imran) was very good and the comedians were carefully chosen to give a mix of styles. Unfortunately our evening was spolied by a group of people sitting directly behind us who insisted in arrrying on loud and inane conversations while the comedians were performing. I turned round and gave them a death stare on a number of occasions with no effect. I suspect there is not a lot a venue can do with this sort of boorish and inconsiderate behaviour, except perhaps employ more stewards.

Comedy Store Players always put on a hilarious improv show. Would recommend everyone to go and see them even if it's just for Josie Lawrence singing a song using a word from the audience. Very talented bunch of improvisers.

Comedy Store; here’s a tip.

If you are planning another charity evening it's probably best not to drag a foul mouthed left winger off his pitch at Speakers Corner and give him the stage for the last ten minutes so he can slag off the Monarchy, the Tory Party, the police, the “upper class” and the "1% - it's us against them, join the fight" then ask the people who've probably just been slagged off to put their hands in their pockets for your charity auction.

By all means make jokes about those targets but make it humorous, not a foul mouthed tirade of abuse. It was like being lectured to by a yobbish school playground bully.

The only upsides were the compere, who was very good, and Milton Jones who is a class act so save your money, avoid this place and pay to see him in his own show somewhere to avoid having to endure the poor quality of the other acts the eleven of us did. Won't be returning.

We have been here a number of times over the years, it never disappoints..

The improv shows are fantastic, the panel have been around for a number of years so are complete experts, no 2 shows are the same as each session is based around audience suggestions…..some are very random. It is so fast paced it can be a struggle to keep up.

The comedians are great, some are well known, some trying out their stuff, all credit to anyone who gets up on stage trying to make a live audience laugh. We were lucky to see Maisie Adam who was fantastic.

All credit to the MC’s who keep the show moving with wit/banter with the audience. If you sit near the front, you may get your 5 minutes of fame whether you like it or not!

A great evening out, we tend to chose the earlier showtime, it gets a bit raucous later on.
