The Old Vic is a beautiful and historic theatre rather oddly located today off Waterloo Road. I imagine when it was built the are was quite different. Photos off Laurence Olivier and Ralph Richardson adorn the walls to remind you of the history. A non subsidised theatre which its on interesting work of high quality under the artistic direction of... More

This is London theatre at its best. A beautiful interior with magnificent sets, superbly managed with some of the very best acting talent in Britain today - a must-see if in London. The Duchess of Malfi is a grand tragedy and a wonderful evening of drama, with all the lead roles just amazingly performed. As with all the plays here,... More

The Old Vic is one of the classic theatres in London with a wide range of plays and a number of well known actors (e.g. Kevin Spacey). I visited a performance of 'As you like it' 2 years ago, but I was not too amazed by it. It was well enough acting and a nice scenery, but they didn't cut... More

We did not think that this play had aged particularly well - the motivation of one of the main characters just doesn't make all that much sense so you spend a lot of the play thinking "why does he continue to make these bad decisions". The killer is that the character is obviously smart and in soliloquy clearly identifies that... More

This is finally a show that I have been enjoying after all those rubbish things that I've been dragged to! Eve Best is just fantastic and most of the cast follow her steps... The lighting and the set are all excellent and so are the costumes. As for the actual place, the Old Vic is the first theater in London... More

Spectacular! and we we went before the bed broke and the mouse tried to steal the show. One of the best shows in London. More

If this is typical british humour, god help us! I really cannot remember ever sitting through such a lot of nonsense. [ well half of it!] I reckon I've got a reasonable sense of humour, which is why we went, but this was beyond the pale. The reviews, as usual , were almost beside themselves, so it had to be... More

Noises Off at the Old Vic, definitely to be recommended. Plates of sardines coming and going everywhere, doors slamming, much to laugh at - but Janie Dee whizzing up and down those stairs in high heels, very impressive. More

My husband and I saw this show last night. Having no idea of what the show was actually about apart from reading a short synopsis the show really took us by surprise as it was much funnier than we had expected. We just had time to order a drink to take in with us together with a half time order.... More
