They have quite nice coffee and cakes, and the area nearby is picturesque, but (apart from the flies and mosquitos) it's just kind of shoddy. Everything is outdoors, but even in that context, tables are dirty, washing-up is substandard, pots of milk often have bits floating in them. You order from a stall in the middle of the garden, and... More

Lovely cafe/tearoom. Friendly staff. Lovely location for a quick drink, just like sitting in a fairy glen. Great walks from the tearoom if thats what you like. More

Firstly....there's a lot in a name....although described here as Tea Rooms, Falling Foss describes itself as Tea Gardens...and with good reason. There aren't any indoor facilities here...all the tables are outside...many under wooden shelters and fleecy blankets are provided to keep you cosy on a chilly day. We'd read the mixed reviews but were going for a walk round the... More

A cafe in a beautiful ancient forest setting. Off the beaten track and away from the shoppers visiting Whitby. More

If you don't want people walking round your garden then don't buy a house with a public waterfall, felt like we were intruding also toliets are disgusting and are unusable on rainy day. Not worth a second visit More

Fantastic rest stop on your walk through Sneaton Forest. Lots of choices of refreshments and treats. The carrot cake and brownies are to die for. Brilliant place to take children. It is quite a steep walk down to the tea garden but definitely worth it. More

Just got back to our holiday cottage in Robin Hood's Bay after an afternoon drive which included a visit to Falling Foss. I only found out about it from a very complimentary note left in our visitors' book. We arrived pretty late in the afternoon, and I imagine the owners had had a busy day, yet the gentleman was SO... we love this little place, we live very nearby, we always use this when walking the dogs, or when out on the quad bike, it is lovely for a little snack and a drink to make your adventure out enjoyable. Owner is lovely and so friendly. Wish we had thought of this idea first!! What a gold mine it will... More

This is one of my favourite places to visit after a lovely walk with the dog. The scones are amazing but you need to go early as they go fast! My only disappointment is that they close at 5 which means during the summer I can't go mid week as don't finish work till 5. at weekends its unsurprisingly, very... More

Beautiful surroundings for a hidden gem of a tea room. The scones with jam and cream are to die for as are the sandwiches. Make the effort! More
