Spectacular 14th-century hall and impressive undercroft. At first glance, it's just an impressive roof, but if you take the time, the hall and the Company have a fascinating history.

Rather hidden away but worth finding.
Tells the story of the Merchants and their Guild from medieval times in York. Wooden beams, great hall, changed over the centuries all add colour to this story of traders, and socialisers. Very good individual audio tour guides you through the rooms and artefacts of each period of history.
Excellent!

Not much to see inside. It was nice to have seen it but wouldn't go out of my way to see it if schedule tight.

The building has historic interest, but could use more explanatory material or an audio player.

I have never visited a building like this. There isn't too much to see, but what there is has plenty of history and interest. For the cost (it can be visited as one of a series of musea) it is worth the visit. Check out the chairs and the sloping floors.

We were told about this place by the Guest house owners where we stayed, and were really glad we went. The architecture alone is reason to visit. A stunning medieval building. The hand held audio guides worked beautifully, although our kids preferred to wonder round without. You don't need a long visit, an hour will do, but it certainly added...
