This is a lovely tidy, welcoming area.
Great views - no, there isn't a lot to do, but it's just nice to sit down, relax, eat a picnic and admire the scenery.
I live in York and will never tire of the sight of the Minster
Well worth a visit.

Fantastic area in summer to eat your sandwiches. Continue walking through so you circle the Minster. Look carefully on this walk and see how well the architects have developed town houses down the side streets.

clean and relaxing a nice place to come and have lunch in with the family

I'm writing this mainly to temper the very positive reviews. This is a nice, quiet corner of greenery in York - but there's nothing to do, apart from look up at the Minster. If you happen to be nearby and want sit down then pop along.

Missed by many tourists who never get around the back of the minster. Buy a coffee and and sit in the park just soaking in the atmosphere. The Minster on one side and the Minster Libary it's a lovely place with space for children to run and lovers to laze.
